WOW for Obama

Hello to everyone! I'm happy to have found a group of folks supporting Obama who are on the more 'experienced' side of life. I'm also one of those White Old Women who supposedly was head over heals in love with Hillary. I'm looking forward to discussing your ideas and sentiments about Obama's move to the right, and appearing to back pedal on some very important issues, ie withdrawing troops from Iraq, FISA, campaign finance.....

To borrow from a slogan we used many years ago....Power to the People! As trite as it sounds, it's the truth.

Welcome Francesca! I hope you enjoy this group and it's sister eons group "Barack Obama Supporters" as much as I have. There are some very talented and bright people in them and they have given me a lot of information, food for thought and support. Lots of varied opinions and a close knit bond. We don't always agree, but we do always try to give each other the respect of listening and discussing.

Hi, Francesca-- I like you. "Power to the people." I forgot all about that. I remember teaching my little neices and nephews that slogan== imagine barely able to talk, saying that. Came out like "power to the pipple."

Welcome from a BOW!!

Yes...a move to the right was expected, however I really believe he does intend to bring troops home within the time period he has stated.

Hi, Welcome. I think we need not worry about some of the slight center leanings OBama has shown. Particularly Iraq. All he said was he would refine his policy after talking to the people on the ground. Actually we want that, since Bush has never listened to anyone that didn't agree with him. But I think he is committed to ending the war, and the only question is how. I think the fisa bill he voted on was because of other things involved in the bill that resulted in some satisfaction for us, though not as much as we wanted, which is the bill Bush would have vetoed. Being a senator is tricky. I think there should be a huge change. One issue per bill. That way its obvious what your person is really voting for, rather than seeking the compromise within the bill you didn't want, but have no choice about.
