Fan working overtime
I love this group and usually only visit when I am wandering or have a problem. But I wanted to share that I had a problem that I solved myself with help from
view link and I just wanted to share my success. My fan was running within minutes after I turned my MacBook on and got really bad when I attempted to do anything complicated.
The above link suggested resetting the PRAM which entailed opening my machine and removing the battery, sort of like pulling my own tooth. Reading further down the page I came across a suggestion to check the Activity Monitor and see if any programs were running in the background. A suggestion was made that it could be a printer program and it was in my case. I quit the program and the fan quit hissing.
My machine is happy, I am happy and feel somewhat more confident. It also wakes me up to the fact that there is a lot of support out there for apple users that is easy to understand even for the not so technically inclined such as myself. It just requires one to ask questions and be aware of changes in your machine. My next problem most likely will stump me but today I feel good.
