Airline Job Cuts

American Airlines has announced it will cut 7,000 jobs by the end of the year, and the airline expects its job reductions to mirror the 8 percent cut in worldwide flights it plans by the end of the year.

Continental is also planning job cuts and more flight reductions.

Geez. How many of you fly periodically? If the airlines keep cutting back, we will all be sitting on one airplane going around the country to all the airports before we get to our own destination.

It's a problem for me, living in Anchorage and with a mom in Michigan. They just announced that United, my usual airline, will no longer fly through Anchorage. As it is, we often have to leave here after midnight on the "red eye". We get stuck on 6-hour flights on planes that are packed, so we can't move to a more spacious seat.

My daughter is a flight attendent with AM. Airlines and her hubb is in NY and she lives in Tx. so the attendents will have a hard time getting home in off time..It is a mess!!

I have been three times and I'm not going again unless it is just forced on me. They use to be really nice (1st time) and now it's a little like flying on a greyhound bus with wings. Can hardly get a cup of coffee. I thought I would die, but I didn't. (Did you guess that part)
