black national anthem

Have you seen the news report of the black woman who was supposed to sing the National Anthem at a mayoral event in Denver. She sang the black national anthem instead to the tune of our National Anthem! What total disrespect! Is this what we have to look forward to if we elect the democrat who is running for the presidency?

Yes I saw it, it pissed me off. Is this part of the "change"?

Ok, I'll bite; what does somebody singing their own version of the national anthem do with democrats? That's sort of a stretch for me.

Do you remember when Kennedy was elected? People were so freaked out because he was Catholic and clearly the Pope would be running the country.

My response to your inquiry about the relationship to the person running for the presidency, as a democrat, is that since that candidate has spent the last 20 years steeped in black liberation theology we just need to be careful about the kind of change he is talking about making without ever actually saying what those changes might be. The woman's disrespect was palpable. You need to read some of the responses that were written on the Fox site that carried the story.

There is no proof that this event and the Democratic selectee, Obama, are directly related, but one could point out that his candidacy has exposed a significant racial divide in this country that most of us were not aware of. For example, the hate-speech practiced in some "churches," the links between Obama and the Nation of Islam and the New Black Panther Party, the accusations of racism against anyone who does not support Obama, his overt disdain for certain segments of the Democratic party base, his wife's Princeton thesis about race. He pretended to be a "uniter," but I think his candidacy has taken race relations back 40 years. That is unfortunate. Surely there is a black candidate who is truly a uniter and who has transcended race, as was the hope of MLK. Obama is not that candidate. My gut tells me that the singer may have felt encouraged to show disdain for this country by seeing Obama's friends publically busting out our country. But it's just a suspicion.

So how many color-national anthems are there? I am so out of the loop these
days.

Anyone have a link to the words to the Black National Anthem? I had no idea one existed. Uncalled for to sing anything but the real thing for a public event at which one has been invited to sing the real thing.

This really has nothing to do with Obama. I don't believe Democrats in general would do this and just because Obama is black doesn' mean he'd act as this particular black woman did. Nice try, though. I'm not voting for Obama, but my decision isn't based on speculation or unproven rumors.

PC is running rampant in this country, I believe this woman knew exactly what she was doing and took advantage of the situation.

Boy, what a shame that woman is. What she did only devides people more. Why does so much have to be a black thing or a white thing? The National Anthem is AMERICAS anthem. Denver should be ashamed of it's self.
