I get an itchy bumpy rash from the sun that is just unbearable on my arms and chest.....but sometimes my arms and chest itch from just being hot and sweaty without sun exposure! I hate it. Dermatologist has been telling me for years now I am allergic to the sun and to stay out of it altogether....or stay clothed and covered or slathered in sunscreen. Yeah. Saturday I'm headed to the beach for 2 weeks: )
Heat and humidity up here is ick. It really bothers me. But then again the frigid cold does too.. So I guess there's no happy medium (well,, maybe fall sometimes). Sun gives my arms horrible rash also, itchy itchy. If i'm in it to long they turn to blistery hive like bumps. Have a nice butterfly shaped blotch on my right leg that i've had for a year now. being re-tested again for lupus.
i have no energy to do anything but sleep.. but have to keep doing doing and going going.. whether it hurts or not. NYY54 knows my story....

The heat & humidity are bad here in Florida this time of year. Also, our AC has been giving us problems intermittently & I think we will soon have to buy a new one. In Florida, we use a heat pump/AC & it will cost around $6,000 to replace. (we have nothing saved towards it----)
I also get a raised red itchy rash from too much sun!
I can't be out in the heat unless I can cool off in a pool or at the beach. To just be in the sun, kills me.
A lot of our meds make us photosensitive too.

I think that everyone needs to just get on a bus or plane or whatever and come visit me. It's high 60 low 70 here this week. Right now its about 60 and raining. We were really hot last week-end but now this. They say if you don't like the weather in Washington just wait 30 minutes, it will change and its true. I bought big big big pretty fireworks and we can all go the the lake and blow stuff up together.
I have those reactions also. Mine are from side effects of the combinations of meds my doctor told me. This has been happening off and on for years. My legs take the most abuse from the sun. It think it is that they are so sensitive from being enclosed for so many months and then surprise.
NYY54 you should check my weather group out. We could use more members from your part of the states. The extremes have been hitting the whole USA. Keep cool NYY54

I can't do sun either. Hadn't been able to before all the meds. For itching, try powder on it. It has been quite warm here for a while. Just got a storm to cool off.

I, too, have had that rash on my arms and sometimes my legs. I went to my PCP 2 weeks ago with my arms so itchy I was scratching myself to the point of bleeding. He gave me a script for a cream that helped. He also told me to cover up - long sleeves and long pants - in the sun and avoid limes. Apparently there is something in limes that aggravates photosensitivity. I've been doing that, but one day last week, I was out in short sleeves and a short skirt and ended up with new bumps on my arms and legs and the tops of my feet. I used the cream, stayed in shade, and it seems to be gone. I"m not a sun worshiper by any stretch of the imagination, but it does make it hard when driving since I have to wear a jacket or something to cover my arms. Sunscreen is NOT enough.
i'd love to come and do fireworks italianmomma. but,, afraid to fly... i agree with covering up arms and legs, but then you have to run the air conditioner in the car and that gives me headaches. (not that i wear shorts that often).
I love to fly but can't afford it now with the increased fares---plus I am so afraid of loud noises. I have to cover my ears at fireworks. Even the little ones scare me to death.
Your temps are a little too cool for me, IM!
