"Budding Artists"

It always gives me great pleasure when I get to see my grandchildren. Today my daughter (my youngest of 4) came over with her 2 girls, ages 9 & 5. She left them with me so she could keep her Dr. appointment (she's expecting her 3d daughter early in Sept.) Those kids love to do art & sat at my kitchen table for an hour & 1/2 drawing from imagination as well as from the little stuffed animals & other things they had with them. I told my daughter they both already have an "artist's eye" for seeing & drawing shape & color. Years ago I taught adults how to develop an "artist"s eye". Some got it & some never did. I love to see what my grandaughters create. I almost always receive at least one of their masterpieces for my refrigerator. Today the younger one drew a cat & a dog. It was so much like a picture her mom did at the same age that I saved & still have hanging in the room my 2 daughters shared.

Children's art is the best. I remember the days when my refrigerator was covered with my children's art. It is always interesting to see how they draw things and their perceptions of the world around them that is expressed through their art. I don't have grandchildren yet but when I do, I am sure that my refrigerator will once again be covered with those wonderful masterpieces. Enjoy your special artwork!!
