So who is going to be VP?

I am curious what will happen now, after the meeting with Hillary, and the fiasco with Clark. Any ideas?

Anyone but Hillary! We have 3 contendors in VA, Jim Webb(the senator who told Bush it was none of business when Bush asked him how his son was doing in Iraq!), our Gov Tim Kaine and ex governor Mark Warner who is running for senate.

Don't rule out Al Gore. It may be a long shot, but could happen.

It has to be someone who will pull in votes in the highly contested states. Remember, it isn't good enough to win the largest number of votes. We have to win the electoral college. It has to be someone who will help Obama pick up those "toss up" states with a large number of electoral votes. For that reason, I don't think it will be Hillary. Too much animosity in those states. I'm not sure if John Edwards has the pull. Is there a Texan or Ohioan that could fit the bill? Midwest/South is where the candidate needs to come from.

I'm definitely beginning to get a gut vibe it could be Jim Webb after all. I've been rooting for Kathleen Sebilius, but Webb seemed to look like the cat that swallowed that canary when he was asked the VP question on Countdown on Tuesday evening, to me. No way it could be Clark after Obama called his comments "inartful" this week. I think the rest of the pack are out of the question. Hillary isn't even an afterthought.

I vote for Jim Webb. He gets Obama. They are like flip sides of the same coin. But, realistically, Webb is no diplomat. People can be put off by his demeanor. Maybe Obama has enough charm to offset this. There's not enough contrast between Edwards and Obama-- both idealistic, gorgeous, tall, eloquent men. To combat the 'elitest' charge, we need someone less charismatic. No female-- too much diversity at one time. Besides, sure to alienate Hil's gals even more. Gore ain't going for it. Foggitaboutit.

Again, the reason I believe Webb will not make the cut... He wrote some years back disparaging remarks about women in the military, and a sizeable voting group will be very put off by that. The name that keeps coming back over and over is Joe Biden. But who knows.

I've been all over the place with this one (except Hillary)...I thought Obama and Edwards LOOKED like the ticket for a future America (I still think this). I think Webb has the foreign policy experience and is somewhat of an outsider like Obama. but...it may be Biden, and I'm alright with it!
