I have some news
Our 20 year old unmarried daughter told me last weekend she is pregnant -- this will be our first grandchild -- needless to say her Daddy is not all that happy about it and it's taking him some time to adjust to it --
When the baby comes,you will love it and so will her Daddy. My step-duahgter just infromed my husband tht she will be having her second-baby--still no married. She takes birth control as well as antidepressents. We think one cancelled out the other.

I can understand he being upset over the situation but since there isn't anything he can do about it, he will come around. Once he is a 'grandpa' he will love the child.

Congratulations, KarenBee! I just found out my 26 y/o niece is pregnant with a baby girl... Skylah, Skyleah... however/whatever. She is also single but marrying the daddy soon. Her father, who is my brother, is beaming, waiting for his Baby Sky to arrive. I'm happy too. Life doesn't get any better than grandbabies. Enjoy!

Actually, I am looking forward to having a baby around -- it's been a while, our "baby" just turned 9 -- her Daddy had already said that he is sure that by the time the baby is here, the circumstances under which it arrived will no longer matter to him at all. He loves children too and if the truth be told I think he is secretly thrilled on a certain level, just disappointed that it had to happen this way --

Congrats! There's nothing to compare to the love you feel for a grandchild. It's amazing. Grandpa will come around. Wait until you hold that baby and look into his/her eyes for the first time, you'll be forever changed. What great news!
