WILL U B RIDING ON THE 4TH?
To celebrate independance day? Seems only fitting to me!
no,no and hell no!!!!!
one of the downsides of living near the fort in st augustine is july 4th. the town gets loaded up early with elderly tourists which is enough risk in and of itself (we learn early here in florida that if the car is a buick and you are on a bike you are in deep doo-doo). by 4pm the redneck contingent starts arriving from palatka and putnam county and even though drinking is not permitted on the fort grounds by 6pm these guys are blown out. to give you an idea of their socio-economic makeup take the rednecks in the movie "deliverance" and next to the putnam county guys they look like wall street hedge fund managers and if i'm lying i'm dying!!!!!! for the last 3 years after the fireworks are over we have called the cops every year since we have been lucky enough to have a guy beating his wife in a parked car with their children watching!!! for the past 15 years we have had cars parked in our yard towed off (now that's a hoot to watch a drunk try to find his car so i guess it's not all bad). so no we will stay put and do some grilling and guard our property and no way no how will the bike come outta the barn!!!!!!

ps. but my favorite sport is to set on the front porch after the fireworks and give drunks wrong directions. darned fine fun there!!!!

OMG I had to recheck your profile for location...as I have previously suspected , (don't take this personally) YUCK! Bluehairs in buicks? My grandmother drove a buick, very scary, she honked b-4 going thru intersections! Deliverence? I'm gonna get nightmares! Mongo said I can not travel in the South, he thinks I would get us in trouble! BE AFRAID, BE VERY AFRAID! I do however like the idea of giving druncks bad directions,,(my darkside) Although my location is less than ideal we will be riding, also traffic HAS lightened up since econpmy got soo bad! lil plus.

please take a look at it. this is what i contend with everyday and the 4th makes it worse!!1

I’ll be riding from Cody, WY to Mountain Home, ID on the 4th. I hope they have some good fireworks in Mountain Home.
