In the pool reading. . .

Oh Well I took some books back to the Library today and with all the determination of an x-alcoholic headed for happy hour at “Friday’s” I said at the door as I entered the Library “I will not look at the Friends of the Library shelves! Here's what I got:

Killing Floor by Lee Child
Coffin on Murder Street by Gwendoline Butler
Bread Givers by Anzia Yezierska
And Lake Wobegon Summer 1956 by Garrison Keilor

I sat down and read a page or two from each before I picked them and they are all good so far. Had I known that the paper backs were on sale for a dime today I would have bought many more. I am so glad I didn’t know. LOL

That's kind of a neat practice, reading a few pages from each book before you pick one.... I'm going to remember that next time I've got a bunch...

LOL Sue! That's very good--walking into the library saying to yourself that you won't look at the-best-great-on-books shelf!!!

I need to find Killing Floor--that was the 1st Reacher book, wasn't it? I have 5 Lee Childs sitting in my stack (good deal at eBay). Wobegon is always a good bet! I haven't heard of the other two authors, but will check them out.

I bought Killing Floor on Barnes and Noble used book site. Sometimes the shipping can be costly but when you pay 1.93 for the book it might be worth it. I have bought some like new hard covers on that site also.

10 cents a book what a bargain! Our library sells them for 50 cents a paperback and 1 dollar a hardcover but that's still pretty good considering what books costs now adays.

My library is having one of those sales now, too. As soon as I see that sign, I've learned to turn my head! Way too tempting! 'Course, took the kid there other day and as soon as we walk in "Look, Mom! A book sale!" Shutup!!! Managed to re-direct her attention to the DVDs to check out. Sheesh...guess she's inherited the 'shopping' gene....no matter whats on sale.
