We will have finally worked our way to Yellowstone by then. I hope I can talk hubby into taking the day off and hanging around the MH. Then I'll have time to make the Great American Food: hamburgers, potato salad, and iced tea.
We'll spend the week at Elephant Butte Lake, NM, where family members have a cabin on the lake with a couple of RV pads for the RVers in the family. This is the first big gathering since all the grandkids came along, that's 5 toddlers to keep up with. We'll be busy!
We were originally going to stay here in OH and see what it has to offer for 4th of July Celebrations. But since DH is coming close to the end of his latest project and not really busy, we are taking a couple of days off and stay in a motel.
We've heard so much about going to RV Factory Tours that we are going to drive to N. Indiana on Sat and come back on Tues. Already have a tour scheduled for DoubleTree on Tues am and are still trying to decide which one to see on Mon.
We'll be staying here at the house, preparing our all-American meal of hotdogs on buns, with yellow mustard and ketchup plus hot dog relish, and potato chips, with Coke. This is what I was able to finagle from the U S Marines at their base outside Rome when I was over there in 1969, on the Fourth, and terribly homesick. They gave us (my Roman husband, too) each a Hershey bar, too. They offered us a beer, Bud, I believe, but I don't like beer... so it was Coke. I was in tears, I was so homesick!
After Luigi and I were divorced, and I was able to stay at home in the U.S., I've always had that as my all-American meal on the Fourth. 1969 was the year we had the guys land on the moon, and the Italians were congratulating me when I walked down the street!
Crazy times! Happy and safe Fourth to all!

We are going to go to our campsite up in northern Wisconsin. Our daughter and two grandsons are joining us. The weather..so far..is suppose to be great.
We originally had plans to camp at Aloha State Park in northern Michigan, but when my husband figured that it would cost us around $400 in gas plus the cost of the campground, we decided to motel it instead. The park is in Cheboygan where my husband's family lives. My brother-in-law owns some cabins on Lake Huron and we will be there for July 4th shooting fireworks off over the lake. Then we are heading to Houghton, Mi where my daughter lives to spend a week with her. so we'll be gone for awhile.
Having a family party with as many of our kids, grandkids, etc as show up in our backyard. One of the gradkids is marching with his HS band so we'll be going to that parade.
We'll be setting off fireworks in a nearby town where they're still legal. We go to a large parking lot and take the motorhome so we have a supply of water to douse any embers.
Sometime around the 15th we're going to grab 5 or so of the grandkids and head to Oregon, Yellowstone and northern Utah for a few weeks. Yeah, fuel costs are bad, but motelling with 7 or more gets expen$ive too and travelling with the motorhome lets me find a bathroom when I need it.
Camping, Camping, Camping-do it every weekend but Holidays are special at the camp ground. Band, Bingo, Golf Cart Parade (everyone decorates for the season), Fireworks and last but not least the best party in town and the best people around.
