Christian Iconography, (From the “Tarot Connection – Tarot of Color”) … Red is the color of blood, and so is used in the church as the liturgical color for the commemoration of martyred saints. As the color of fire, red is used as the liturgical color for Pentecost. Red, is the blood of martyrs.
Have you asked yourself lately, ‘where are you going’? … Or are you just hoping one day you’ll find yourself where you need to be? Are you carrying your sorrows and struggles so close that you can’t see the proverbial forest for the trees? … Maybe it is just time to stop and look up.
I think sometimes the reason we continue to plow ahead in life is simply because if we stop, we may have to think. Keeping our struggles close is also a defense … and at times, a fence. The fence is a barrier we build between ourselves and anything else, and ‘else’ includes people, places and things. You may know this ‘fence’ by another name … excuse … At times we use our problems as the reason we don’t know where we are going. While it may not always be easy to look backwards, it sure is safer … or at least we may feel this way.
So like this ‘flat-peep’ in the picture we put our burdens and sorrows out front to keep us safe. We don’t want to make the mistakes of the past. So we just keep moving without knowing where or how to get there.
The Ten of Wands comes this week to show us that it is time to stop, lay our burdens aside and look ahead. He shows us that it will be ok, … for he gives us a sign. Look at the picture once again … see those green buds at the top of those Wands. Our sign that burdens, sorrows, and even mistakes may not always be resigned as failures … For failures in life will turn to lessons and within our lessons we find personal growth. Just look how far you’ve come … now take a moment to plan the rest.
Blessings and Peace … … sbgimp
