Hypermiling redux

I think it's good enough for an encore... 100 mpg? For 'hypermilers,' that sounds about right

dont laugh, i have been doing this for several months now. it didnt have a name in the 60's but my dad taught me way back then.

it used to take 1/2 a tank to get to work, and back everyday. now it taks less then a 1/4. so it does work. just slowing down does more then anything else.

and this week, since its friday, i have it down to 1/8, including driving my kids somewhere and back.

amazing.

Some of the heavy duty diesel engine companies in the 90s came out with software and training techniques to improve mileage called progressive shifting. The engine ECM queued the truck driver to shift.
