cost of gas
with the price of gas being as high as it is...I now estimate how much it will cost to go anywhere
- cost to go upnorth to visit with elect or water well driller or propane people or...just to bring stuff up...3 hours each way...$100 in gas
- bring stuff to auction (as I clean out my house)..15 miles each way = $8 in gas, and $4.00 in McDo malt = $12.00
- go from my new home up north to expensive small grocery store: $8 round trip, to medium price grocery store: $12 round trip, to cheapest grocery store: $16 round trip + groceries, of course
for me the key will be to cover many errands on one round trip...groceries, gas station, meat market, vet, dr office, library, hardware store...no more 'quick run to the store' for milk, newspaper, whatever...next year gonna look into a moped
