Cerebral humor wipes me out. Slapstick, not so much. Wit. I absolutely love wit. Married all my husbands because of their wicked wits.
really cant say but we seem to be laughing all the time. I can laugh so hard that I pee my pants, its a terrible affliction. Wicked humour sometimes. I dont care for slapstick or stupid humour but sometimes, well.....something will just hit me the wrong way and there ya go.
I used to love Everybody Loves Raymond because it is so true to life (well mine anyway)but life in general can be funny, watching the poodles play or interact with the cat. Little kids.....I scared my daughter yesterday and she about exploded in four directions before she came back down to earth and that was funny. Sigh.....but I also have black humour and can find something funny at inappropriate times because my imagination goes off at a tangent. Thats the trouble with me....my imagination.
Denny Crain, the mad cow infested Boston Legal Lawyer, and my new puppy Zach. Zach runs with this tongue hanging out and his ears flapping in the wind. His tail is wagging constantly and he licks everyone to death. He loves all humans and is a constant source of free entertainment.
Janet Evanovich's books have that effect on me. It's embarrassing sometimes when I'm on a plane or in a doctor's waiting room. But I've also found that the older I get, the less embarrassed about things I become. That's probably a subject for another thread.
I am an embarassment to everyone around me. The absurd is what makes me laugh out loud. And you gotta admit life is very absurd. I also admit to an adolescent sense of humour. Mel Brooks, Stooges, Marx Brothers, Pretty in Pink -- I love it all.

Political humorists make me laugh so hard I cry...
Keith Obermann slays me at times MusicLover.
Keith can do it for me too Charles, and dark humor, but my grandchildren's antics have me laughing out loud.
On going mythmaking about Noah is getting funnier all the time.
Baby dino's could have been on the ark???

Charles - I am so glad that you are encouraging people to laugh and that YOU DO! I know it adds years to your life. I am sad to report that there isn't much left on TV that really gives me a good laugh. Movies, a little better. I gathered with my "movie group" last week and we watched "A Shot in the Dark" with Peter Sellers. What a wonderful room full of belly laughs. As mentioned by one of your repliers, I lean more toward the simple, slapstick sort of humor rather than the intellectual. I loved the movies, "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World", and "Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines." Both a hoot!
