OIL: NOT JUST AN ENERGY SOURCE!

Some Products From Oil …. Just GOGGLE for yourself…

Looking closer at the list provided there are many items that could easily be replaced with what most of us grew up with. Pens, use pencils, milk jugs, back to glass, candles/bee's wax, cosmetics, are they REALLY necessary? My point is, we were made dependent on many of our products in order to feed the oil companies in the first place, Tires were once made of rubber too and rope from hemp :)

If we substituted, or regressed, to what we used instead of oil-based products, would that solve our problem?

I would think in many ways it would help. There are so many UNNECESSARY items made from oil it's foolish. Until we get to the point of alternatives leading the way NOT only in energy but as a new great American economy. I think it is up to each one of us to cut from our lives the very things we each KNOW are unnecessary. Plastic grocery bags being one of many. The less we use oil based products would that not leave us with more oil for fuel?

I FOR ONE AM NOT WILLING TO DO WITHOUT THEM. AS LONG AS I CAN WORK, MANAGE MY OWN MONEY, I WILL DECIDE WHAT I WISH TO BUY. WE NEED TO DRILL HERE IN THE USA. WHEN OIL DROPPED TO $8 BARRELL BACK IN THE 80'S, HAD WE STARTED DRILLING ON OUR OWN SOIL THEN, WE WOULD NOT BE IN THIS MESS.

drilling will NOT help, Even the GOP presumptive nominee openly admits that. I may NOT know alot but I do know enough. Until we reign in our consumption the prices will rise where even someone professing their dollars are enough to waste will begin taking a harder look at usages. Buying trash bags has always been a pet peeve of mine. To spend MY hard earned dollars just to throw them away. Humm, maybe that's where i go astray of my conservative side?

What are people so afraid of here in America, that we can't drill?

DRILL NOW, DRILL NOW!

Why should we here in America go back to the DARK AGES? What is so frightening going into the future? Have we become a bunch of wimps in this country and letting people holding our hand instead of going toward the future and using whatever it takes to make things better for us all.

We have enough of everything on this planet for CENTURIES, and those who don't know what a Century is 100 years.

GROW UP PEOPLE!!!!!! Don't look into the past anymore - we need all DIFFERENT WAYS EXCEPT CORN. Did you know that corn is a great pollutant and those in the Environmentalists movement will not tell you that and neither will farmers now that they are receiving a huge sum of money for Ethanol. It is a great polluter and not good for people either.

DON'T LISTEN TO THEM I BEG OF YOU!!!!!!

Alternative means is good if it doesn't pollute the planet you so love or harm people - I found this out - find it for yourself it took me forever for they don't want you to know.

Oil is the main source on this planet and this planet gives it out forever. Mother Nature makes sure this happens and she is well protected believe me. Don't fool with Mother Nature and try to improve on her - you will lose.

WE ARE BEING HORSE-WALLOWED INTO THINKING THIS STUFF, FROM PEOPLE WHO DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU ONLY THEIR OWN POLITICAL VIEWS AND THAT POWER THEY HAVE OVER YOU. YOU ARE THE FOOLS!

DRILL NOW, DRILL NOW!!!!!!!!!

WE rely on all those things on that list - and people shouldn't have to deal with Dark Ages ideas any longer.

If you want to live in the Dark AGes I'll show you in a new message later on what they had to deal with. And sense you want the Dark Ages - good for the people in high office that didn't do what the people wanted were put to death.

I'll message later - have to work for a living.

I am with Brandysunshine,
Why should we digress when China and India are going forward? Why should we do without our oil when other nations are drilling off our shores.
Until we can get another source into production then we must drill.
True, there are a few things we could all do without, but so could China and that is where all our manufacturing dollars are going.
I am tired of the Democrats wanting to give everything away.

Before long we as Americans' will be riding bicycles and not have heat for our homes, but our govt. sure doesn't care. And China will overtake us with their poisonous junk they peddle to us. Gee what a real deal we have!

I would like to add a note to the writer who said something about tires in the olden days. I remember them well, lots of flats, blow outs, wrecks caused by them. I think I like safer tires on my vehicle when I am on these freeways.

If you would like to try living in the dark ages, I suggest before you decide for sure you do a test run. Try living in a country on this earth right now where their standard of living is in the darkest of ages. Try is out before you proclaim we should all accept it. Personally, I like the way I live today and most of us have worked hard to be able to live well. The need for oil is a fact of life and isn't going to change. I don't have to have cosmetics or many of the other things on the list, but some people do. I do want air conditioning and heat and fuel in my automobile and some other goodies provided by oil. I get a big kick out of those who hate the oil companies, it's like hating mother's milk.
