A Walk on The Beach

I live in SW Florida. Just a 10 min. drive to the beach. But I get so caught up in every day living that I forget I can take a walk on the beach any time I want. So I got in my car and drove to the beach. I think I walked about 4 miles. I had forgotten how beautiful it is. That old saying is definitely true. "Stop and smell the roses". Or in my case, the salt air :)

You are so lucky to have a beach so close. Yes, it is quite a wonderful pleasure to stroll on the beach.

Good Job! The smell of the sea salt, the warm sand between your toes, the birds and gulls chirping....all wonderfully relaxing. Great time to ponder and get life's things into perspective. :~)

i use to love the beach when there is no tourist. We lived in Va Beach and worked there too. I never really liked the salt water. Give me lake or creek clear water any day. Nothing in there will bite you.LOL
Now when we stayed in the motel that was something to see out the balcony. Watching the sun come up was a simple pleasure to me. Here in Oklahoma, to many trees taller them me to see the sun come up.

A lake or creek with nothing to bite you!!! :~) A most vivid memory I have of my childhood is being in a W.Va. creek...in the middle of it...and every step I took out crawled a critter!! I was terrified and my parents got tired of waiting for me to make my way out, got in the truck and pretended they were going to drive away. I now know those critters were crawdads...right? They were beyond frightening at that time.

At the beach, there are regular crabs, jellyfish, barnacles, sharp shells and sharks (if you go too deep) but nothing scared the fool out of me like those crayfish!!! :~)

My kids have grown up in Florida so they know all about gators and jellyfish and sharks. Well one year we went to Tenn. and rented a boat for a day on a lake. My kids were so hesitant to jump off the boat into the water. It took me forever to convince them that there was nothing in the water to bite them. Well they finally did it and their first comment was "where's the salt?" I realized then my kids needed to get out more. lol We had one of the best days ever on that lake.

OH! that is so lucky to have a beach to walk on just 10 minutes away.
I would love that, and probably do it very often. Nothing like being by the water to calm you. Sounds wonderful!
