Karaoke Time

Cali just gave me an idea. You went out with your friends to a karaoke bar and they are telling you you have to sing something. No excuses. What song are going to sing?

I would sing "Different Drum" by the Stone Ponies or something by Bob Dylan. Someone once told me Dylan is me.

Oh this is an easy one. Tina Turner's Proud Mary -- can you see it?? In fact my sister and I did do that very thing one time for my (then) husband's b'day party.

A) If I was at a bar (karaoke or otherwise), I'd certainly be "oiled" enough to sing anything I know all/most of the words to. :-) What comes to mind at the moment is: "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor. I LOVE that Survivor spirit in her!

B) Another, which I consider my personal anthem, is George Benson's "The Greatest Love" which includes "No matter what they take from me, they can't take away my dignity (identity?)!" So true.

Well, since I am not allowed to sing around any of my friends, I know they wouldn't ask me to sing. But, if so, my anthem song is Reba McEntrie's song, "How Was I To Know". It's about how a woman finding out, after her husband left her, she was strong enough to survive.

My friends limit me to "Happy Birthday". Which is fine with me. I don't drink, which is essential to doing karaoke, so you won't see me in the spotlight.
