NEW FOOD GAME....

Here's an idea for a new food game...it's easy, everyone can play and hopefully more will get involved in answering and posting replies!

We'll start with the letter A and continue through the alphabet; naming a food item and how you prepare it, or in the case of a component item, like a spice, herb or whatever, name how you use it in a dish. If you cannot think of one, go on to the next letter...Okay?

I'll begin with ARTICHOKE - I like fresh ones steamed and served with melted butter with lemon.
Now, give me a "B" item and how you prepare it.

C -- Chicken (pretty obvious, huh?) LOL!

How I prepare it depends on which body part we're talking about.

Boneless skinless chicken breast: easiest by far is coat it with herb blend, then grill with the GF countertop grill. I also poach chicken breasts, usually two at a time, then slice the meat to use for salads and with pasta.

Boneless skinless chicken thighs: work really well with highly flavored dishes. They're my first choice for my Chicken Enchiladas. I also use chicken thigh meat in my White Chicken Chili.

Then there's the chicken stock that I like to make from the carcass and freeze in ice cube trays.

Next: D!

D for Dill to sprinkle with lemon juice and butter (or olive oil) on just about any fish, but especially salmon.

Grilled Salmon: Put slices of lemon on the grill. Place salmon Fillet, skin side down on top of the grill. Spray Olive Oil on Salmon, then sprinkle salt and dill on top. Cook to internal temperature of 155 degrees or more. 165 degrees is well done, but not necessary for fish.

E----Egg plant

I love egg plant and like it fried or my all time favorite is egg plant parmasean. I always make extra and freeze small dishes out of it to be used later. Just as good as when originally made.

Fennel...sliced thin, and sauteed with onion slices, then added to pork chops braised in milk. With new potatoes, this is a wonderful dinner. Fennel tastes of a mild licorice flavor.

(Forgot G)....G as in Garlic, a no brainer. Any cook worth his or her weight, knows how to use garlic! Being Italian, I thrive on the stuff!
