Plain and simple, Bush wants to keep HIS treachery out of court! I find myself more afraid of what our government has become under the Bush/Cheney Gang than I am or terrorists!
Did any of you consider that there may be a difference in what constitutes "evidence" in a military tribunal and that of a regular court. Probably not. Just like there is a difference in what you can use as evidence in a criminal trial and what you can use as evidence in civil trial.
An example:
OJ Simpson was acquitted of charges in a criminal trial, but found guilty in civil trial because the civil jury heard evidence that wasn't allowed in the criminal trial.
President Bush and the Justice Dept. may feel the need to adjust what they bring to trial now that the Supreme Court has decided it knows better how to fight a war than the Commander in Chief does. So much for separation of powers.
Buhbubble,
I take it from your post that you think it is ok to torture people. I assume you also think that keeping someone in prison for 6 years, (so far) without charging them with a crime is cool. Do you think America should be more like Hitler and Saddam ? Again, where is your sense of decency ?
little story: Hi. My name is Ahmad. I turned in my brother in law as a terrorist for a financial reward, (and also because I don't like him much). Of course it was not true, but, my sister was glad to be rid of him. He has been at gitmo now for 6 years without charges or a trial. I hope he stays there forever....good riddance.
BUHBUBBLE...do you have a nazi fetish ?

We cannot overcome "evil" by doing evil. Under Bush our country has become all that he set out to fight, or so stated. I think by now we all know his real goal was OIL.
