I'm looking for....

When I was little we use to make cut out Christmas cookies with a dough that included sour cream. Does anyone have that recipe? They were so AWESOME!!!

I haven't tried this recipe yet but thought it sounded good & had copied it into my cookie files a few months ago. For years my mom has talked about her mother-in-law making sour cream roll out cookies but she never got the original recipe.

Sour Cream Sugar Cookies

2 eggs, beaten
2 c sugar
¾ c shortening
1 c sour cream
½ t vanilla
¾ c flour
2 t baking powder
1 t nutmeg
1 t baking soda
4 c flour

Combine eggs, sugar, shortening, sour cream and vanilla, mixing well. Sift together ¾ cup flour, baking powder, nutmeg and baking soda and add to creamed mixture, blending well. Add 4 cups flour, stir well and roll out. Cut shapes with your favorite cookie cutters. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 350 for 8 to 10 minutes or until very lightly browned.
