I believe that you have to own your own domain. Isn't blogspot a freebie?
Blair
To clarify a bit you're on a sub-domain of blogspot.com, which is owned by Google. You need to own your .com or whatever name to qualify for Adsense Of course since Google owns both Adsense and Blogspot there may be some kind of exception to this, but I doubt it. Might check with Blogspot to be sure.

You might try the procedure from this page. I can't tell you if it works since Adblock + removes all adsense ads for me....lol.

T2Rs, Adblock + also killed all the crapola embedded ads from this page...LOL.

Advice? Stay a civilized human being, and don't become a slime of the Earth Blogger. Or a spammer for that matter.
RT, first a little statistic to keep in mind:
"The ISC Internet Domain Survey is trying to count the number of hosts on the Internet. The figure for January 2007 was 433,193,199. A host is identified by its domain-name (for instance: pandia.com)."
Your blog is a personal journal with value to you and your family and friends--keep it that way!
The chance of an Adsense ad appering on your blog, despite the fact that it is not a registered domian, are slim to none. Sorry for brutal honesty. I too created a 120 post blog dedicated to research on I gathered on adolescents at risk called "Save Our Children"--I invested 1,000 research hours in the project.
I went all out and bought ads from snake-oil salesmen promising top 10 results on a myriad of search sites. I sought no profit or donations for my work. So, with no personal gain sought, I threw about a grand to the wind. I gather you are looking to make a buck on a personal journal.
Good Luck,
Sid
