What is HTML?

HTML is Hyper Text Markup Language, a computer language which allows anyone to place text, pictures and graphics onto an Internet website. The text, pictures and graphics can then be viewed by anyone who accesses the website by way of the Internet.

Unlike many computer languages, HTML is not really that hard to learn and, even though it is an easy language to master, it is also extremely powerful in what it allows you to create.

HTML is made up of codes typed into a text file...these are known as "tags." The tags are then saved as a HTML file. HTML is viewed through a browser and the browser "reads" the file and translates the tags and text into visible form.

Want to see an example of HTML? Ok. Right now...click the right button on your mouse...then click on the "SOURCE" or "VIEW SOURCE" option on the drop down menu that appears. What you will see is this page's HTML tags!

This eons group will be dedicated to helping eons members with posting impressive messages, announcements and replies...even the opportunity to build a complete website!

Ok. Now THAT was a great explanation that I could understand...thanks! Please keep the explanations at a low-level language like this and I might learn something! LOL Really appreciate this!

Wow, you are so awesome. I know this sounds funny but I actually was nervous when you said right-click my mouse because I thought I would delete something BUT I didn't. The "view source" was there just like you said it would be. I know I'm probably being a bit overly emotional but thanks for teaching me so much already that I could understand and COMPREHEND for the future. Please stay in touch, you are a cool friend.
