Thanks for letting me join.

Now I hope I am in the right group for my question. I bought a new computer last week with Vista windows and I also purchased a new game for Vista windows and guess what it does work well together. Here is the problem, the software for the game ran smoothly and finsihed but when I went to play it this is the message I got. "Hardware failed to switch to the specifiede mode". What does this mean and how can I fix it. Please reply as soon as possible I would love to play my new game with my new computer.

Some games are 'special needs' as far as resources go. Extra or faster RAM; perhaps a better or higher quality CRT may also be suggested.

Many games are still making money for the manufacturers, but are 'out-of-date' with higher speeds and quad or dual core chips. In others words, they were built to be run on Windows 98, 2000 NT or ME ... etc.

If your explore your computer directories and find the .EXE module of the game, you can right click the icon and run it AS IF it were on a different (lower) system.
