pet quotes and poem

I think I could turn and live with animals, they are so placid and self-contained.
I stand and look at them long and long. - Walt Whitman

I am in favor of animal rights as well as human rights. That is the way of a whole human being.
- Abraham Lincoln

She sits composedly sentinel, with paws
tucked under her, a good part of her days
at present, by some ridiculous little hole,
the possible entry of a mouse.
(Henry David Thoreau)

I love these, and especially with having a cat, I appreciate the picture that the poem brings to my mind's eye!

i have always asked who are we to think we are the superior species?
if someone doesn't like animals i am very leary about knowing them.

We are all one- the environment, the animals, humans. All interconnected, how can they be seen separate, I'll never understand that.

Thanks macscout for these. Brings a bit of my pets back for a minute's company.
