Thanks for making this tribute, Trip. One of the truly objective political analysts of our time has passed on and will be sorely missed. This man loved what he did and he
did it well.
He set a wonderful example as a parent, a son, and a person of faith. I feel for his family in their time of loss!

What a terrible loss. He's missed reporting on one of the great contests of our lifetime. He always spoke the truth and demanded the truth from those he interviewed. We watched Olbermann today and realized how much he was loved and respected by those who knew him and worked alongside him. His poor family. Sudden death came to Russert while they were miles away in Italy. I can only imagine their shock and disbelief. Tragic so close to Father's day. Tim Russert had written a best selling book about his dad. Here's a quote from the British papers:

"He was a senior vice president at NBC, and this year Time Magazine named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Russert had blue collar roots in the upstate New York city of Buffalo, a Jesuit education, a law degree and a Democratic pedigree that came from his turn as an aide to the late Senator Pat Moynihan of New York.

One of his books, "Big Russ and Me," was about his relationship with his father and topped the New York Times best seller list."

I can only add what each of you have said. Trip, thanks for sharing. He, Tim had also said," This era of an African America is great. I'm sure he will see the results.

My prayers to his family.

Listening to the tributes, I was glad to hear that he was as genuine as he seemed. The last comment I heard of his was on the evening that Obama declaired his win of the nomination. Tim commented how he wished he could be a history teacher at this point in history.

I've been watching Russert's show since he started on Meet the Press. I didn't always agree with the way he conducted interviews and the way he posed some questions, but he deserves props. He'll be missed.

I have watched Meet The Press with Russett since the beginning, about 17yrs ago. I look forward to his shows on Sunday and can't even think who will take his place.

He will be missed.
