Your House
How long have you lived in the house where you live now? It seems like we are all gypsies these days. No one is living in their childhood home, or the same place for decades.
12 years and am house hunting again. want to move closer to the kids and grands. house I grew up in is long gone as is most of Cairo,IL. shrank from a high of about 25,000 down to around 3500. interesting story there..the town died of racism. some guy did a photo journal of the blow up around 62.

I love moving...would sooooo like to move closer to a town and have real paved roads!!

I agree with Dee I would sooooo love to move to town to paved roads-- but fear we are here to stay --- thank goodness I get to travel a lot. Been living here for 25 years!

I am in this house for the past 5 years now. Before that I lived in another town about 25 miles away and lived there for 30 years, That's the most time I have ever stayed in the same house.

We moved here in 1986, bought another bigger home in 1998 while renting this house, moved back into this house sans husband in 2001 and have been enjoying it and the neighborhood ever since. It's small, but it's home.

Okay, Marti, now you are trying to make me feel old. We ex and I built this house and it is 30 years old. But I love it. After he left, I made it mine. There is no longer any of him here. It is totally me. But my family home is where my brother, whom I no longer speak to lives. It is a long and very sad story. But let's just say, I don't speak to him. The good news is I love y hosue here.

I moved in the house I am in now in Oct. 2007. I have never lived longer than 5 years in any one house. I guess that comes from having a father in the Army and moving every couple of years, never had any real roots.
