Obama's IQ The Highest Of Any President Ever?

The former Guidance Counselor of Obama's private Hawaiian school has supplied The Washington Post with a certified copy of
Obama's Stanford-Banai IQ Certification, one of which was taken in 1966 when he was a kindergardener in Hawaii before moving to Indonesia, and one which was taken as entrance protocol as a freshman in his private (extremely exclusive) Honolulu private highschool.

His IQ was clocked at 172 and 166 respectively (IQ's normally have a fluctuation of 6 or 7 points from test to test so that discrepency is normal).

That puts Obama in the certifiable clinical genius category.

Obama's campaign is apparently NOT HAPPY about The Washington Post preparing to disclose this, because they fear it adds to his reputation as not an "everyman" and being too "elitist".

FYI-- HRC's certified IQ is 140.

I say it's big load of dog squeeze. I was not able to get my records after 15 years as the school said they don't keep records that long.

Wow. Let's measure everything by your school, why don't we.

It may be squeeze, but I didn't make it up. I actually copy-and-pasted it. Except the last part about Hillary.

I went back and searched via google. The story has been around in a host of forums including EONS. But I can find nothing to corroborate it with the Washington Post or any reputable (or otherwise) news source. I don't doubt Obamamama that you saw it, because I just saw it in half a dozen different forums. But there is not sufficient information there to say it is not an urban legend.

Having said that, I have eyes to see and ears to hear, and whatever his IQ is, he is one of the smartest presidents I've ever seen and more ethical as well. That is good enough for me.

Oh one other thing. We know that he had been intensely schooled by his mom before he ever entered school, so I would expect him to rate well above the other children at age 6 anyway. Anyway, as I said before, I don't need an IQ score to know this guy is sharp.

I am so proud to have a president that is intellectually and emotionaly gifted!

Dam, when did being smart become elitist? Oh, when we elected an idiot president!

In searching for the Washington Post article (which I could not find) I came across a comment in the Huffington post view link which sounds a lot like the post here.

The author could also not be found. So I suspect that this IQ story is a myth. A 140 IQ which is probably closer to the truth AND is still respectable. Why do we need to create a myth of super genius?

Although I agree that there are those who may see Obama's IQ as further proof that he must be "elitist," I don't understand their reasoning. Like, Jon Stewart: I want a President who makes me feel like a blithering idiot.

Unless those naysayers, who would proclaim, "See, he"s 'elitist,'" have come up with viable solutions - to myriad problems facing our nation . . . it stands to reason that we *need* someone who can "OUT THINK" the rest of us.

I say, "BRING HIM ON!"

I am an "insurgent" for Obama-Biden against McCain and the "pain" Palin.
-----------------------

I am just happy that we have a president who can speak using complete sentences. Why do we need to make him more than he is?

Also, he does not have to be a saint. He just needs to have a sense of morality that exceeds Karl Rove and the last administration. (This is more important than IQ. BTW I think Karl Rove also had a high IQ. AND so did many members of the Third Reich.)

Now that's odd, Bernie. Some of the punctuation and caps have been changed; but those are my words. At least above-quoted portion (see reply #10). However, I am not UCSD; nor have I ever replied to Huffington Post.

It appears that someone is reading and borrowing from our posts.

"those are my words. "

Interesting, MsTick1, It seems that the internet is a very curious place. What we say here is reflected in other places and vice versa. As I mentioned UCSD101 does not exist as a profile anymore.

But getting back to the original point: 172 IQ is probably not correct. However, because it appears in print (or the electronic equivalent) and it is repeated it has the illusion of being correct. The key to its believability is to imply that The Washington Post is the source of the original story. We are more likely to believe The Washington Post before we believe UCSD101.

Someone, (much smarter than me!) once said that Americans want the President to be just like the guy next door but they don’t want the guy next door to be President!

Personally, I’ve never understood the anti-intellectual sentiment in this country. I’ve concluded it’s a Rep plot to keep the masses in line. The Rep’s actively promote anti-intellectualism. Look at William Bennett on CNN. He calls Obama “professorial” and spits the word out like it hurts him to say it. He has 2 Doctorates and was the former Education Secretary!
