How can we help each other?

I posted this question to try and get some sharing of stories, treatment, and how each other is doing. I will be going to St. Louis, Mo., June 26-June 29 for the first confernce of United Female Veterans of America. org. I have learned that PTSD does not go away and needs treatment. I am a different person than I was before the Army. I take small tiny positive steps forward. I still have panic attacks in crowds, the water pouring off me and shaking like a tree in a windstorm. I believe that forcing anyone who has a disability of any kind to fight for their rating continuously for years is very damaging physically and psychologically. I wish all vets could band together with their civilian counterparts and find a way to make this terrible practice at the VA stop.

Thats just my first thought. I have others.

Your congress men and women know it goes on. All the people in power knows it goes on, They condone it, thats why it continues to go on.

The civilians are truly ignorant. Over and over again, I find myself explaining it to them, how this stuff is supposed to work, as opposed to how it works in reality.

However you are absolutely correct about our elected public servants. They know and do nothing. They suck.

The vets who are in dire need of help, are the ones who have the least energy, health and resources to fight for their lives and benefits. Its all on purpose. Its a war of atrition.

I agree with both of the other postings on this topic, and Steph is correct on why the government does this. See when the government realized that we were actually getting a little better and then you would not feel so bad,

They want us to suffer.

I am lucky to have contact with Senator Patty Murray ( Dem. Wa) and Jay Inslee( Congress House, D. Wa). I write them andtell them what I think. I recently told my story MST to a congressional reporter and it got printed, I hate doing anything with a claim with the VA!! I had to prove everything 30 plus years after it happened. It took four years to approve it on appeal. The VA loves to do nothing for veterans !! I am part of a group of veterans that is sueing the VA and a chemical plant because of chemical exposure to AO at Ft. McClellan, Al. . SallyAlly

Pat Quinn has attended EVERY funeral of a fallen service member since he was elected. But what do you expect from the best state goverment money can buy .. Very Scaastic I say that. Ed
