If I think that someone is a loser, do they become just a bit more of a loser? I think so. And if I think that my neighbor is delightful, do they become just a bit more delightful? If I think that I am less than I should be, does that effect my day? Of course it does. It is popular to think that if we keep our thoughts to ourselves they do not have an effect. It is also popular to think that I am just one person, there is nothing I can do. One person can teach another to read and then they can teach another, and then they can teach another. One person can send another a website where you can oneclick and raise money for many charities, and then before you know it millions of people are oneclicking. One person can reach out a hand and help someone on their feet and that person may help many others onto their feet.
So what are you harbouring? What are you taking into your heart? Is it compassion, joy, or malice? Do we see others as victims of their situations and therefore help them stay victims. Or do we see people in adversity who can rise above their circumstance with just a gentle helping hand. Do we believe in them, and in ourselves?
I believe that we can change how we think and what we harbour in our hearts. We must ask Creator to help us ever be on guard against harbouring harmful thoughts. I promise you that Creator will help you with this. I have kind of a silly way of doing this. Whenever I think a harmful thought, I have a little saying "Incorrect thinking, incorrect thinking, back up, back up" It works for me.
Find what works for you, for we have a great responsibility to be a light unto this world. Everything we do effects someone or something.
What one thing can you do today?
May we learn to benefit the life of Earth with peace, humble in our needs, and generous in our giving.

Dear Feather, I am enjoying reading your 2-part post so much! "Thoughts are things" was taught over and over at a church I used to go to before I moved from that town. I do believe our thoughts influence our worlds, the universe. A few weeks ago Northern California ( = here) had huge, powerful winds, and not just for one day. A friend of mine in San Francisco said he thought the reason was the energy activity to the north of us, around Mt Shasta, where powerful spiritual beings are reported to dwell. I believe we are powerful spiritual beings. Maybe our thoughts and behaviors were causing the wind's power to be unleashed. Today is windy again. I wonder how many people in our region are thinking kind and loving thoughts toward the wind? And how many are thinking upset thoughts about it?
The bottom line is: our thoughts especially influence ourselves. I am learning to direct loving thoughts to myself, even when a self-judgement arises. Especially (underline that) when I judge myself, now. I have learned it is a magical healer. Thank you again for the reminder about Oneness.
I send *you* thoughts of Light and Love - Peace.
Another great post my sister. Once again you bring us thoughts, encouragement and enlightment.
Dza Devlesa my sister.
Beautiful post. My belief is that everything natural comes from Divine Source. I am a piece of God and so is the rock in my yard. I have a particular fondness for rocks so it is easy for me to see them as living beings with their own innate wisdom. In the Native beliefs, they are the grandfathers, full of wisdom. When you see all things as connected, coming from God, it is easier to envision the web of life and easier to imagine how one thought impacts everything connected to the web. Another Native teaching. We are all connected at our source and I believe that every thought, word, deed and action that goes out from us, comes back to us. Even if we have no concern for the rest of the web, we can understand that if we want to improve what comes to us, we need to improve what goes out.
