Going all the way back to service days in Italy I have been very interested in the natural and human remains present in earth's surface. In those days I was limited because of my requirements of military duty. A castle somehoe related to Barbarossa II in Lucera, Italy had been partially opened and restored in the early 1800s and I got to look around and see how that type of living might have taken place. As an artist I sketched part of what I saw.
