YES!!! High fructose corn syrup in my opinion is worse than cane sugar. Most food industries use corn syrup because it'a cheaper. When coke swithed over to "new coke" this was the new switch.
There is speculation that this is one of the reasons type 2 diabetes is becoming a common problem. I tend to believe this theory and I avoid high fructose corn syrup at all costs.

"Yet" makes sense to those who think (logically) that our health is in the interest of food companies - but "therefore" is closer to the truth. Precisely because it is addictive, it can be found in nearly every kind of food. Same reason MSG and many variations of MSG are common, and aspartame, although both these things are toxic. With this kind of "health," it's no wonder obesity is an epidemic in the U.S.
Last week I found sugar and corn syrup on the ingredients list of a packet of imitation crab. It's pretty sad when corn syrup is in meat.

Hey Glenda, who Knew! I am glad you posted this, I had no idea. I will watch the ingrediants more carefully now! Elly
Hey there ... isn't this form of sharing information great!!!
Here's another ... Maple syrup .. many of the brands have additives including ... you know it, corn syrup!
The ONLY healthy maple syrup is 100% Maple Syrup and while it's a bit on the spendy side, the taste is incredible and it's pH assimilates with our body.

Good Morning Gang. I saw this post on the home page and had to join your group.
There is an article in the May 19th issue of "First" magazine concerning "A common sweetener prevents slimming" It touches on the connection between HFCS (Hight Fructose Corn Syrup) and obesity. As more of it is incorporated into food products, the weight of the average American has continued to balloon. It is prepackaged into "healthy" foods as granola bars, low-fat yogurt and who-wheat bread. The article goes on to say that HFCS disrupts the function of the liver, and pancreas. Two organs which control weight my metabolizing fatty acids and regulating blood sugar.
It seems as more and more diet/low fat products were being created, HFCS was added to bind various ingredients together when the fat was removed.

Oh man, I am so glad you brought this topic up, Glenda!!!
Several years ago...like 30 years ago...I was so sick...and all the major tests came back borderline. Finally, I asked if it could be an allergy. Well...maybe. So I stopped eating everything except potatoes and oatmeal. Six weeks. I dropped 40 lbs just like that! Felt wonderful and no more was a wheelchair looming as something I would be chained to. No more pain at all!!! Then I started to add one ingredient at a time. First thing I wanted was catsup! Well, second ingredient is CORN SYRUP! I ached all over instantly! That got me to thinking...about all the stuff I had been eating a lot of...Mountain Bars, Cinnamon Rolls, and the list goes on and on. EVERYTHING I had been eating and CRAVING had corn products in them! From that day on, I have not had corn. However driving past a cornfield is not good, and I carry Benadryl and an Epic pen with me...and use it as well as popcorn that all the stores seem to be popping nowadays...it throws me into a loop! I can smell corn chips far away...and you might ask how in the world I know it is corn? I ache so badly, sometimes I have to be carried up stairs...as my joints all lock up. It is terrible!!! Over the years I have found I am also allergic to gluten and sugar...all types. The only sweetener that does not raise my blood sugar and cause a fast heartbeat is Agave. I cook with it exclusively. I wish more people knew the facts about corn! It is on stamps, envelopes and paper products. The list is endless. Vanillin is corn. White vinegar is corn. They are even researching that perhaps MS is from allergies, and corn is the first one that should and will be pointed at!

When I was going to a nutritionist a few years ago, she told me that one of the worse things for you was corn, because of the sugar content.
I have to say that I have in the past looked up the ingredients of corn syrup and I wasn't able to find an ingredient except corn syrup. How is that?
