whats up with harley guys

why is it that when your riding a cafe bike japaneese or italian that you always get smart ass comments like ;get a real bike? well i tell them i have a real bike , i just happen to like my bikes style and performance . and #2 my bikes made in kentucky! besides you have to be pretty insecure to always have an attitude towards other riders because of what they ride. its funny my buddie rides a ducati, another a bmw. and me a honda vfr . which happens to have been chosen best bike in the world 11 times by the most well read bike mags in the world.i have nothing against harley guy,s but if you have a big mouth about how your gonna smoke some jappa or duck or bmw get ready to get your ass seriously embarrassed. maybe its this part of the country ? i dont know. has anyone else ever incounterd these wanna be riders that just dont get that a real rider has some class and respect towards all bikes

Here in Kentucky everyone waves. We don't care what you ride, just ride something. I ride both a H-D cuiser and a pair of Suzuki sport bikes.

I have found that the HD people who sneer at our faster, more powerful, maintenance-free, made in USA bikes are often weekend warriors. They will even wear colors.
Most serious HD riders allow for a bit of respect that you are on two wheels.
I have ridden with the so-called weekend warrior types usually on a Honda. They are the ones who try to make the rice-burner bikers envious of the Harley. Trust me, they are not successful. The reason folks are on not-a-Harley bike is because they chose the bike that was most appealing to them and treat their two-wheels with respect and tuned and ready to go anytime. Most do their own maintenance so they know their bike better than most HD weekend guys.
How many HDs do you see on the side of the road, owner scratching his head wondering if his AAA membership will pay for this.
I'd like to reiterate that most serious (like everyday) HD riders are a class act. I've pulled to the side of the road occasionally just to get some rest. Frequently a HD rider or group of thunder machines pull over to check on my welfare. If they decide to hang around for a few minutes we talk bikes. They look at mine and I theirs. Something to admire on any twofer machine!!
