Career chunking

I've been exploring the trend of career chunking among boomers and 50+. How many of you have bundled your talents into many different chunks...for e.g. work on contract for one or two people, while holding a part-time position for another, and run a small at-home business at the same time. With it getting so tough for our demographic to find jobs, how are you creatively bringing in the bucks to pay the bills?

I'd already begun thinking about this as part of my plan for my financial future. It will take good organizational skills and a lot of focus to keep more than one fire burning, but it sure beats sitting around waiting for the cosmos to hand me a full-time job on a silver platter.

Here's one woman who's already doing this and has kindly outlined it for us -- check out: view link

I do exactly this, but call myself an Independent Contractor, sounds better than 'chunking', sorry! No different from an Electrician, Plumber, or Computer Technician. Promote yourself as a Consultant and you will attract more business :)
