Thank you all for your support. Gmail is a great system because you can store 2G of memory under labels via an email. Another subject.
Let me clarify my want.
Put a pic on a email, make comments about it, the recepient does not have to view or download the pic.

I keep all my photos in Picasa and then send them to people via gmail all the time. I also use firefox browser which has an automatic spell check that is great.

What you're asking about is inserting a photo in to the body of the email so that when the recipient opens the mail and starts to read they automatically see the photo as they're reading. I'm pretty sure you can't do this from Gmail's webpage interface.
I use an email client [program] with my Gmail account and that makes it easy to do. I'm on Vista, and for my Gmail account I've been using SeaMonkey's email client, but this can be done with Outlook Express or Windows Mail for Vista. I had been using Thunderbird, but found that sometimes it wouldn't insert the photo.
For Outlook Express and Windows Mail [as well as SeaMonkey] open a new message window [Compose or Create Mail], set the recipients name in the To: field, and fill in your subject. Next, click in the body of the message. At the top of the compose window click on Insert/Image [or Picture], and navigate to where the photo is stored on your computer. Click on the image name and then click on OK. Your image should show up in the body of your message.
If you don't get the option to insert an image/picture, you need to change your settings from Plain Text to Rich Text Format. In Windows Mail this is found in the new mail message window under Format/Rich Text (HTML) and I imagine it's in the same place in Outlook Express; it's been a while since I've used OE, so my memory is rusty there.
If you have any problems, or if I've misunderstood what you're trying to do, post back.
