I've been released!

After the second round of physical therapy following the knee surgery I was finally released today! I learned so much from my PT and will truly miss him. He gave me a "going away" neck massage today! He took me through all the exercises I'm to continue at home and wrote down lots of things for me so I don't forget. I actually like the exercises. I know! I can't believe I said that, either! I have set up an area in my "sanctuary room" with my mat, bands, weights and have dug out my yoga tapes so I can continue to work on my balance. I just wanted to thank all of you who prayed for me before the surgery and have offered so much support during the past two months. You must have asked God to give me strength because I am physically and mentally stronger than I have been for years. I have already thanked God for answering your prayers for me and now I am thanking you all! May the Lord hold each of you in the palm of His mighty hand today. God bless you my family, my friends. Hugs, Marcia

I'm so glad that PT is helping. The exercises do help and I hope we all can motivate each other to do something. I try to walk and do my stretches and exercises from PT every day. I don't count my walks with our lab or granddaughter since they like to stop and go. Mazzy our dog stops to sniff and our granddaughter stops to pick weeds and wild flowers. Keep up the good work. Hugs.

Ms.Flower, I thought you were in jail at first. I do not think many of our fellow pain ridden people that meditation can help manage pain and set your mind to a more positive state.

You go Ms. Flower!!!!!

I am so glad that you are finally there. It's been a long time coming and you have been through a lot. I am also glad you like your exercise plan--I do something each day to stretch--it varies according to what part of my body is shouting the loudest for attention. :o)
It also sounds like you PT is a special person, I am glad that you got a chance to know him.
So what are you going to do this weekend to celebrate yourself? Hugs.

I know its been a long road for you Nana. I'm proud of your success and that you have a new attitude about exercise. I'm the worst when it comes to getting enough exercise but now that we are getting warmer weather I'm hoping to get out and walk regularly. You have me off in dreamland with a neck massage. Who's hiding Ramon'?? Next time I'm in Florida I'm gonna give your PT a big hug. He sounds like a real darling. You have always sounded so positive in your words. Now you are stronger emotionally? You must be bouncing off the walls..lol
Like Dad I thought maybe you had been arrested. I guess I will cancel the second mortgage on my house. Or maybe use the money to get to Florida! By the way is the messy fire situation getting a little better?

tb, I am going to tell you my secret motivation and we'll see if nanaf has the same secret. The only reason I can stick to any kind of program is that I get instant gratification. If it weren't for that I would probably never stretch even.
When I do gentle walking, it decreases the pain, helps with the asthma, and stretches my back muscles. I do bed exercises before I roll out of bed and then stretch in the morning so that I can get in the shower, then I can move and by the end of the day, I move pretty well. Then I go to bed and the next morning I start all over. Oh, I forgot all about all the time I spend on the computer letting everthing tighten back up but I guess that will never change.
Enough about me, you were talking to nanaf. hugs, both of you.
