Good Morning Food for Thought

Quote of the Day
"Nothing will ever be attempted, if all possible objections must first be overcome."
~Samuel Johnson
It's raining cats and dogs today, so I guess I can't go for a walk, so there's no need to eat right. I could do the workout video, but I've got a busted shoelace and I'll get wet if I go to the store to get a new one. I was going to grill those chicken breasts outside, but with the rain, that's out of the question, I may as well just eat junk.
Pouring rain may be the perfect excuse not to do yard work or fire up the grill, but probably not the best excuse to forget about eating right and foregoing our exercise plans. For every possible "what if" on the negative side there is one very big "what if" that must be put first and foremost ahead of everything else. "What if I succeed?"
There is an element of success that frightens all of us. Success will bring us to a new place, an unknown place and the unknown always holds uncertainty and a bit of caution. Excuses are easy, we learned those at a young age and we can pretty much justify staying exactly where we are to anyone, including ourselves, and make it sound reasonable, even though deep down we know its an excuse to just not change our ways.
Making excuses to put off a couple of chores on a rainy Sunday, hey, we all do it. It's a good day to be a little lazy, relax for a change, it's probably been a busy week. We all deserve a day to kick back a little, but not in the taking care of ourselves department. Our brains may know that it's raining and nasty outside, but the rest of us doesn't know or much care. Our hearts and organs still need good food, our muscles still need a healthy workout and our bodies don't fall for our excuses. They do know if we make them and let us know by not performing well.
If you've been putting off starting your healthy lifestyle, remember the important "What if you succeed?"
