Thanks

Thanks to all of you who replied to my first message. You have made me feel welcomed and I am glad to be part of a group who know what it is like and have had similar experiences. My friends and family try to understand and are caring people but they really don't know what goes on inside. For example, I have know several people whom I work with who have lost family members during the past several years to cancer. It not only makes me realize how extrememly lucky I was, but also I at times question "why me?" Is there something I am supposed to accomplish yet that I haven't. These things at times keep me up at night.
Anyway, enough about me. Again, thanks to all of you who have made me feel welcomed.

You're quite welcome. This is a very supportive and accepting group. And you are so right, talking to others who have been through "it" is very helpful. I find that everyone knows someone who's had cancer or died of it, and they feel they HAVE to share it with me. It gets a little burdensome. But hearing from a survivor about their battle....well, we're in the same family.

Just think of your still being here as you have more to get done. You do tend to change the order of your priorities when you have cancer or any life threatening thing happen. You wonder why some things seemed so important at the time. I know my self I found out people that became really good friends and others I thought were good friends that are no longer there. Things I took for granted are so much more important now than they once were. Nature is the most beautiful thing and I love it's wonder. Today, middle of the day, we saw 2 deer just off the road while on our motorcycle. The joy at seeing them.

I feel like I'm replying to *all* the above: First, you are always welcome here no matter what. Second, cancer and its survival makes of us an elite club - we will find more survivors when we speak of it. And third, I think I learned tolerance. And it's made my life much smoother. I don't have to be God today; I just have to make it *through* the day.
