She Was A Mother To Me

My mother in-law couldn't have been
more of a mother to me than if she gave
birth to me.
She had eight children of her own but when
Wayne and I got married she took me under
her wing and always made me feel like one of her
daughters, not a daughter in-law.
I was 16 when Wayne and I were married
and I was so blessed when I became part of
the Gard family.
They all accepted me and made me feel like
feel like I finally had a family of my own.
Mom Gard taught me a lot over the years
and was always there if I needed someone to talk to
or to get motherly advice from.
No, the last thing she was, was an interfering mother in-law.
Her daughters, Marilyn, Norma and Roseann have all followed
the example their mother set for them.
They too are great mothers, loving and caring and are always their
for their children.
To me they are my sisters never sisters in-law.
They too have welcomed me with open arms into their family
and have never treated me as an outsider.
I'm so blessed to be part of this wonderful family and to have
add Mom Gard as the only Mother I have ever known.
She will always be in my heart.
I have been lucky enough to be part of the Gard family for over
51 years.

My mother Rood was just a woman as your Mother Gard. I was the first girl to enter the Rood family and all the wives of the Rood boys were daughters never daughter in laws. I wish I could have spent 51 years in the Rood family but death ann diviorce removes much, but I am still loved as a neice and cousin to the Rood clan of Scotland inspite of the diviorce in 1980. nanafox
