We all have at least one thing in common. We want to get healthier.
Our reasons may vary. Some of are in this because we don't feel so good anymore. Our endurance is shot, our blood pressure is too high, and our doctors are giving us grief. Others are doing this because they'd like to get into those clothes hanging in the backs of their closets. Still others are motivated by pride. Some are driven by love, wanting to do whatever is necessary to remain strong for their children and their grandchildren. And a few are being pushed by significant others who ought to have their asses kicked.
There's something else we all have in common, though. We're beautiful, inside and out. Losing weight will have no effect on that. What makes us shine is intrinsic, woven into our very character, and it has nothing to do with pants size. Never did, never will. I see it every day. I wish you did too. I'm surrounded by people who touch my heart, who enrich my day, who have made my life a little sweeter by being a part of it. If I'm going to fight this battle, I can't think of a better group of people to have by my side.
I'll lose the weight. And that, aside from the feeling of empowerment it will give me, will be the only major change in my life. To quote Dr. Phil, "Reality check: you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight. At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems. You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life. Losing weight is not a cure for life."
The biggest change has already happened. And I'm grateful for each and every one of you. Don't you EVER sell yourselves short.

I'm grateful for the resources available daily by clicking on to this site and WEIGHT LOSS AND NUTRITON.
When I joined eons in Nov., I clicked on these 2 groups for reinforcement of losing more weight. Even through the deep freeze (Dec-April) which prevented me from walking and exercising as much as I need to, I kept the weight off.
Further, my biggest achievement was experiencing a loss of emotional eating--a disability that I've had since childhood. That needed tremendous assessment of myself, my weaknesses and strengths. Such knowledge came from these sites.
Once the emotional eating problem was gone, I had to deal with a different personality & new ways to approach my own feelings. Again, the info from here is what keeps me going
