Dem Wins Long-Held Louisiana Republican House Seat

Ladies & Gentlemen:

Both a test and a Harbinger of the way things will go in November, Don Cazayoux, a state legislator, defeated Republican Woody Jenkins, a small-newspaper publisher, in the race for a house seat in a Baton Rouge district that was historically a safe red, conservative slot.

This is bad news for the Republicans and good and bad news for the Democrats.

The question must be asked, did the Democrat who won a conservative? One of the reasons, the Democrats won in the '06 elections is they ran pretty conservative people in conservative districts. As for trends, overseas the conservatives have been winning right and left. They have taken offices that were normally held by Liberals.

You don't say, Mr. Ortiz! LOL...

Is this the same Louisiana with the utterly incompetent aging Dem Governor Blanco whose first response to KATRINA was to collect her advisors to tell her what should be the most appropriate dress to wear on her TV appearance? And then blamed the response on Katrina on BUSH and FEMA? (not that FEMA did a good job, but stupidity has its limits...)

Is this the same Dem Louisiana that DUMPED the Dumbo Blanco and installed the outstanding REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR Bobby JINDAL?

LOL...
