I do most of my outdoors gardening, in raised beds. We have a problem with flooding... this method works better for us. Of course they have to be watered more often.
I have a small garden in raised beds I put in last year. the soil is sandy With red clay underneath. Also easier for me to keep the weeds out of the garden. Thanks friend.
I garden in the high desert in NM. It is dry, hot and windy. Water is very expensive here. I have my veggie garden up against a block wall for afternoon shade from the intense sun, and protection from the wind. I water with a soaker hose which is buried underground, so the water has less contact with the dry air, and therefore less opportunity to evaporate.
