virtual memory

Hello All !

If anyone could help me to increase my virtual memory, I would appreciate it. My PC starts running very slow and the graphics sometimes locks up my computer.

The term "Virtual Memory" is your computer's 'trick' to extend real dymanic memory. In other words, when it runs out of memory, it writes to a paging file on your hard drive. Not sure where you'd increase your file size, but increasing your available memory ALWAYS increases computer speed.

This is a very general response since I don't know what your hardware is, but virtual memory is what your computer uses when you run out of physical memory. Instead of storing things in the relatively fast RAM, information is temporarily written to your much slower hard drive.
Your best bet is probably to expand the amount of RAM (physical memory) installed on your machine. This is a fairly simple and inexpensive solution. If you have 512 Mb or less that's fairly small depending on your usage.
Get back to me if you need more advice.
