Useful Websites

I'm setting up a thread for people to post links to useful websites for writers. These can be sites that offer writing tips, publishing information, and other helpful links. Please do NOT use this to link to promotional sites (i.e. - "Buy My Book, Please!"). We want to create a library of writing tools for all to use. Please respect copyright by posting only the name of the site, link, and brief description.

Thanks!
Pat

This is the home of Writer's Digest magazine, the publication that has helped writers hone their skills and promote their work since 1920. The website is packed with writing tips, workshops, blogs, and numerous other tools for today's writers in a very competitive market.

This is the website for this writing organization based in Colorado Springs. It has a forum, with some topics open to nonmembers for discussions about writing. You can also find out about our annual conference and other programs throughout the year.

Most computer spell checkers are limited to around 80,000 words. If my spell checker says it's wrong, I always check with additional resources before accepting its opinion. Here are links to both an online dictionary with hundreds of thousands of words and an online thesaurus, should you need them.

Agent query is the best (free) site I've seen for up to date info on which agents are interested in which genres, how to contact them, their websites and recent sales.
