Airstream owners?

We've never owned an RV, but my husband has always been enamored with Airstreams and is now thinking of buying one. It would be a small one, probably 17 feet, mainly used for short trips. He's looking at the DWR, but I think that's too pricey. Probably a Safari Sport. Since we've never towed anything, I'm mostly concerned about how easy or hard it is to get used to towing something. We live in a windy area too; have you had experience with Airstreams in the wind? Also, what do you pull it with? We'd probably have to get another vehicle. I doubt our Jeep Wrangler would do the job.

Hi, I have no comment on the brand, but I highly reccommend that you consider a motorhome...You should be able to tow the Jeep...we did...The Jeep is one of the few (Saturn is another) that you can tow really easily without a dolly or without disconnecting the transmission. (the mileage doesn't add up either) We have a Cherokee, the Wranglers are the same, but check your year to be sure it is OK too.
We had trailers first and then motorhomes and and find the motorhome a better choice. Safer and more convenient. I know it is a personal choice, but unless you are leaving it on-site, the travel is so much better in a Motorhome. Take your time before you choose. You should be able to find a good used motorhome before you jump into a new one. Good Luck!!!
