Why would Obama have to explain dark currents at the start of his campaign, he didn't owe us an explanation and we didn't need to have one. We are capable of seeing people and circumstances for what they are and decipher the truth for ourselves. He did not apologize for his association with Reverend Wright, he said that he did not condone some of the statements he made. I also don't see him as just an inexperienced idealist, I see a man capable of playing with the big boys and girls.
It's that thing that none of us have -- seeing into the future! Both Clinton and Obama have fallen into that, being "human".
Why does everyone want a pound of flesh out of Obama?
He must really have had a clean record for the" Powers That Be" to go after him about his Preacher! After some of the Scandals that have came out of the White House! Please, all this man did was go to CHURCH! Cheny shot his maybe friend in the face and got away without much PRESS! I mean I guess there is no pleasing some people, would you rather have someone go to church or shoot and kill, with no taadoo at all, guess people thought that was better than going to church! Prejudice! I hear it calling, even after all these years! Liston and you can hear it over and over, "Prejudice"
That call is coming from people that think they have the answer, it is called PHONEY, but they mistake it for morality, they are so moral, and did you hear he is Black!
(how scarey is that?)
don't think you even read the post or if you did it was through a lens so slanted and distorted that you just didn't get it at all. I think I smell of wiff of the same black "victimhood" that reached all the way from Chicago to smack Mr Obama.
Obama is trying to run a positive campaign and he was finally driven to take action on his friend the reverend because the reverend made him. I think that the reverends actions were calculated to cause Obama to reject the noise so that he could get on with his campaign at the highest levels.
My admiration for the man continues to increase, may he do well today.
This Rev. Wright thing has been used by the media to sensationalize the contest. I'm sick of it and so are millions of others. It's stupid, silly, and ridiculous to keep harping on it long after Obama has rejected the Rev's words. When he's running against the senile McCain, he'll have to repeat the tedious answers. LET IT GO, it's over. If the tired, overworked Rev. Wright debacle causes Obama to lose the nomination, we deserve what we get.....which isn't much. The more you learn about the old politics, the more you want to reject it. I'm with you, Allen, may he do well today.
