Where do I start?
God is good all the time...all the time God is good. There is a song called "I've Been Through Enough (to know He'll be enough for me)" Truer words could not be spoken. I am very pressed for time right now, but want to share a couple of things with you.
My Mom went Home to be with Jesus on 4/7/08. It was a hard time for all of us, but we know that she is with the Lord and has no more suffering, pain, heartache or tears! We had her Memorial Service/Celebration of LIfe on 4/12/08...Mom loved the Lord with all her heart, she feasted on the Word of God and was a wonderfully talented musician. She was a very loving mother of 10 and always seemed to have time and affection for each of us. She taught us from infancy WHO God is and taught us to love His Word and to pray about everything. She taught us faith and trust, hope, love, joy, selflessness (I don't think we learned that one very well) and she gave us humor and strength of character and taught us life skills. In the past 2 1/2 years strokes robbed her of her beautiful and strong personality. But you can't take away memories and I had some friends who had not known Mom before she became ill who came to the service. One friend said, "I didn't know your mom before, but NOW I KNOW her". Our mission was to honor Mom and her values and influence and her memory and to glorifiy God in the process----MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!! God is good!!
My Dad and Mom were married for 61 years in October'07. My mom was hospitalized or in a nursing home since the end of August '07. My Dad was there with her every day (except one) until she died on 3/7. He decided he would like to move into the Senior Citizen Apartments and went over to put his name on the list about 3 weeks ago. Because he is a veteran he gets priority. We were hoping that we could get him moved in there before winter. He will be moving in next week and we have to have their home cleared out and cleaned by 4/30. God is good!!
One of my nephews is in the Marine Corps and was scheduled to deploy to Iraq this summer. His wife is pregnant and expecting their baby around Thanksgiving time. He would not be here for the baby's birth. He just got word that his name has been taken OFF the list for this deployment to Iraq and he will be stateside for the birth!! God is good!!
There are so many other praises and good reports but they will wait. So glad to be a part of this group!!
