Perhaps you mean that they don't want to be disturbed with the actual details of prviding every comfort for them! Is is they just want everything cooked, cleaned, and washed, mowed, etc, and don't want the infomation about how that's all done.

Just to add my 2 cents in, I don't plan anything, and I take a much more laid back approach to the answer I get when I ask a question....if I ask a question and get a two word answer with nothing else.........it means that quiet brooding type is up to no good.........ROFL
When I hear "Nothing's wrong." I take it at face value and tell him "Good. Then get off your butt and take the garbage out."
Strong, silent type, my enchilada. Use the voice God gave you to let a person know what the heck is going on.

"Nothing's wrong", usually, from the female sex, means to batten down the hatch, a storm is brewing.
"Nothing's Wrong" from the male sex, usually means nothing is wrong, period.
Reason for the difference? Let's not be facetious, and pretend most men are deep thinkers, and pondering the problems of quantum physics. Most of us are not thinking about anything. Some women, on the other hand, are forming the :storm" in their minds, recalling past sins, and making sure there is a plan of attack.
Most men are not the deep thinkers that is thought, but simple creatures, with simple needs, and capable of turning off the mind. Usually, but not always, nothing means nothing, simple, plain, and honest. Not usually the devious process it is supposed to be.
