Death Valley #1
Wow. I've heard about Death Valley all my life, but never imagined it would affect me so much. We are just back after 3 nights in the Park and I must share a few photos with you.

I do want to say something about the pool. This is the pool at Furnace Creek Inn. We spent half our time exploring the desert and the other half at this pool.
The water in this pool flows DIRECTLY from a freshwater spring (no smell or taste) which comes out of the ground naturally at 86F. The spring water enters the pool through an open pipe at the bottom of the shallow end and exits out a rectangular opening positioned at water level in the deep end.
So in this pool you are swimming in free-flowing, unfiltered, unchlorinated pure spring water straight from the ground at 86F...the BEST swimming pool I've ever been in, bar none.
(When the water leaves the pool it flows down to feed the palm oasis below the rooms.)

If you look at the yellow tower to the left, we were in the first-floor suite with two windows and a stone terrace overlooking the Oasis and the desert.
