Just a few words about West At Home. They are a legitimate company, but they are very slow in their hiring process.
Also, they require a lot of private information such as your SS# up front and a lot of the paperwork has to go through the mail and fax. They also require some to be notarized. I sent everything to them early in February. Because of all of the private information that was sent to them, I kept e-mailing and calling them to be sure they got it and didn't receive a response. Just the other day, 3 months later, they got back to me via e-mail saying that all of my paperwork was received.
Makes me wonder what's going on in their HR Department. I was an HR Executive for 15+ years and I would have been fired if I ran my departments this way.
If anyone has any knowledge about what goes on there, I'm sure we'd all like to hear about it.
Hi YoungGrammie,
I don't know anything at all about the company that we're disscussing. So can't comment on the slow responce, I'd like to hear from others if this is the norm, or something just happened to your paperwork.
What I do know though is that any company that is going to pay you will need you SS# so that they can report your earnings. I know that it is scary now adays to put that info out there, but if a company did not ask for it, I would question the legitamacy of that company.

Hi Candlelady,
I'm not complaining about having to give out my SS#, but, when doing so, one wants to be sure it's secure. Not hearing back from a company after many months and many inquires regarding receipt of this private information is quite unsettling.
Thanks for the info......

Well that does not sound good. That is long time to keep someone on hold for a job.
Let's keep looking!
Yes, I think it's a long time to keep someone on hold, too. Two days ago, I finally received a welcome letter that I'm definitely hired and all of the details for training, etc. I'll try it and see how it goes. If anyone wants to know more after my training and actually starting, I'll be happy to post more information.
West at Home does take time before they hire you. Mine was one month. Did not like all that reading when taking 14 tests. So, I got another job at Cloud 10. They are quicker. Difference with Cloud 10, you go to a web conference and someone tells you about the company -- Orientation. Then I just did a computer compatability test and start training Wed. From what I have seen, most companies don't pay very high, $8 or $9 hour. So, if you are looking for money, I would suggest more education and pick a field that companies are begging for.
WAHBOOM and Rat Race Rebellion has lists of jobs, new ones everyday, 7 days a week. Read the information they have on these websites.
So far, I do like Cloud 10. Remember these companies are getting many e-mails for their positions. Rat Race Rebllion has a nice spreadsheet on each company and lets you know if there are any benefits.
Good luck
